How much sound do SleepSoft plugs suppress?
Alpine SleepSoft plugs reduce an average of 25dB. This means that disturbing ambient noises are suppressed. However, you will still hear the loud noises. Of course you will hear them much weaker. Many people fall asleep more easily and wake up more slowly when wearing earplugs. Loud noises such as the alarm clock, the doorbell and your children can still be heard.
New: Minigrip,
SleepSoft earplugs now have a unique minigrip. This is a convenient tip that helps you remove your corks more easily. It is small, inconspicuous and made of soft material. It won't bother you even if you sleep on your side.
The snoring.
The sound of snoring is sometimes very loud and reaches and even exceeds 95dB. And it's as loud as a pop concert! Even though you use earplugs, you will probably still hear this type of snoring. No matter what exactly plugs you will use.
In case you want the maximum possible muting, we recommend that you visit our hearing aid center to make custom plugs. Their advantage is the fact that they fit perfectly, as they are an exact copy of your ear canal and close the ears completely.
How come earplugs don't completely block out all noise?
Sound transmission occurs in two ways: through the air and through the bone. Our skull also picks up the sound vibration. This is called bone conduction. Through bone conduction, the eardrums vibrate and we perceive sound; we hear it. And that's why sound can never be completely blocked, just by plugging the ear canal.
