Active ingredients:
Pullulan (natural silicone): natural water-soluble polysaccharide with binding and film-forming properties, which protects the scar and active ingredients from oxidation and has an instant tightening effect.
Onion extract (Allium Cepa): rich in bioactive substances such as quercetin, thiosulfinates and phenolic acids with anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antiproliferative properties. Several studies have confirmed its ability to improve the appearance of hypertrophic scars and keloids (Beuth et al., 2006; Campanati et al., 2010; Cosio et al., 2023).
Hyaluronic acid: participates in all phases of wound healing, one of its roles being that of a pro-inflammatory factor of key importance for the adequate adaptive response and tissue repair from damage. In the final steps of healing, hyaluronic acid is involved in the re-epithelialization process, exerting an antioxidant effect and regulating the proliferation of epidermal cells – keratinocytes.
Allantoin: emollient and soothing agent that stimulates tissue repair, controls inflammation, irritation and itching.
Glycosaminoglycans: isolated from natural connective tissue with a high content of chondroitin sulfate. They help supply water and electrolytes to connective tissue and have a significant impact on skin hydration, elasticity and tone.
How to use:
Kaloidon should be used after removing the stitches and on undamaged skin. Apply an appropriate amount of the gel to clean and dry skin, two or more times a day, massaging until completely absorbed.
In the case of thickened and hard scars, a bandage can be applied after applying the gel. Avoid rubbing the treated area with tight clothing, jewelry, etc.
For new scars, continuous use of Kaloidon is recommended for at least two months, while for already developed scars and keloids, use can be extended to 3-6 months.
